The BDEW, as the umbrella organization for the energy and water industry, together with its regional associations and over 2,000 member companies, has the great goal of leading Germany to climate neutrality with a secure and efficient energy supply and advocating for a secure and sustainable water management.

Market communication is the "communication center of the energy industry". It ensures standardized and digital market processes that support efficient information exchange in the energy market and the mass-market implementation of new business models. The BDEW, together with its member companies, develops and manages the necessary processes and data formats. The primary focus of market communication is currently on implementing the necessary processes to accelerate supplier switching and to integrate flexibility solutions into the market.
