We are seeking an experienced Exit Paint Line Operator for our sister company, BDM Coil Coaters, in east Houston.

This position is responsible for the final stages of the paint line process, ensuring that coated products meet quality standards before they are packaged and prepared for shipment.

This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to operate and monitor various equipment used in the finishing process.


Responsibilities:


  • Operate the exit section of the paint line, including speed, steering and tension adjustments
  • Monitor the operating conditions to verify that line tension and drive systems are operating properly
  • Inspect the strip surface through the entire exit section of the paint line identification of defective product including determining whether a condition is evolving from the incoming material or being created by the paint line process
  • Cut and discharge finished coils from the exit section of the paint line
  • Quarantine defective product notifying Quality Control when nonconforming conditions exist
  • Communicate daily with internal personnel from Maintenance, Operations and Quality Control to help resolve any problems and help achieve company goals
  • Assist with other duties as assigned

Qualifications:


  • 1 year of painting experience in a warehouse environment preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements:


  • Must be able to traverse the distribution warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.
