The city administration of Bingen is looking for a Municipal Forestry District Manager (m/f/d) for the Jägerhaus-Lauschhütte forestry district in the Bingen city forest, starting on October 1st, 2023.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning, implementation, and monitoring of all forestry measures
  • Planning and coordination of municipal foresters, companies, and selfemployed workers
  • Conceptualization and implementation of necessary siteappropriate forest conversion in response to climate change and for the ecological enhancement of the city forest for recreational and nature conservation purposes
  • Maintenance of recreational infrastructure, particularly hiking trails, with a focus on safety measures
  • Organization and execution of annual forest youth games
  • Organization and execution of an annual Christmas tree sale
  • Participation and support in public relations activities
  • Management of hunting in the stateowned hunting area (1,103 hectares, four species of big game)

Requirements:

  • Successfully completed degree in forestry (forestry sciences, Bachelor of Science, or forestry engineering) and qualification for the third entry level in the forestry service
  • Independent and responsible work ethic
  • Negotiation skills, cooperation and communication abilities, assertiveness, initiative, decisionmaking skills, and solutionoriented work are essential
  • Strong team player with the ability to work with people of all ages
  • Willingness to work outside of regular working hours (evenings and weekends)
  • Proficiency in common MS Office programs
