Your Responsibilities
Your role will involve expanding research activities at the Center for Applied Cultural Studies and General Studies. You will participate in research projects, drive your own research projects for your academic qualification (e.g. PhD, postdoctoral qualification) and engage in acquiring third-party funding. Additionally, you will contribute to the conception and implementation of courses and events for both academia and the public.

Your main areas of work will include:

  • Research on the role of media, audiences, politics, and science in societal debates on environment, technology, and science
  • Application of empirical research methods with a focus on quantitative approaches
  • Utilization of theoretical approaches from communication studies, political science, sociology, psychology, education, or related disciplines
  • Research questions may include: effects of representations of scientific topics on (lay) audiences, trust in science, attitudes towards technology and science, dynamics of public opinion formation in controversies surrounding environment, technology, and science, and the impact of media coverage on research and science (medialization)
