Description

Superior Plus Propane has a career opportunity for a Logistics Specialist who would become responsible for the efficient distribution of liquid products within the Virginia region.

This includes routing and supporting delivery drivers, maintaining systems data, maintaining effective delivery forecasting, and reporting distribution metrics to superiors.

As a Logistics Specialist, you will work closely with field operations to improve efficiencies with deliveries, as well as resource and demand planning.

JOB DUTIES:

Create service center daily driver delivery schedules and routes
Establish delivery forecasting and frequency to maintain 100% fuel availability to residential and commercial delivered fuels customers while maintaining efficiency standards.
Establish delivery frequencies to create efficient drops, based on tank capacity
Analyze inefficient deliveries, make corrections to customer's forecasting to improving efficiency
Manage, build and maintain service center delivery zones to support route efficiency
Manage driver schedules to maintain DOT compliance
Communicate with drivers on routing and delivery instructions daily
Perform additional duties as needed

SKILLS:

Ability to develop, communicate, and execute detailed work plans that support operational improvements.
Excellent communication, analytical, and time management skills.
Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment and consistently meet tight deadlines

Qualifications and Education Requirements
years of experience in dispatch, logistics, or route planning preferred

Knowledge of logistics routing programs
Strong analytical skills to support forecasting fuel needs, delivery scheduling, route optimization
Knowledge of DOT regulations and hours of service
Ability to assign work and communicate effectively with drivers and managers
Work in a fastpaced customer service organization, meet deadlines, constructively resolve issues
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office with strong Excel and database skills
Logistics, supply chain, transportation, experience a plus

Work shifts can vary during winter months to meet increased customer activities and needs
