    Job Summary:

    The Strategic Procurement Director plays a pivotal role in the strategic management of the company's revenue-generating assets and sourcing functions within the propane industry.

    The Strategic Procurement Director will drive cost efficiencies, ensure quality control, and foster innovation while collaborating cross-functionally with key departments such as Marketing, Safety, Operations, and Finance

    General Responsibilities:


    Lead the sourcing and engagement of reliable suppliers and vendors, ensuring adherence to stringent quality standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.

    Direct negotiations to secure advantageous terms, leveraging market insights and industry best practices.

    Review and optimize existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure ongoing feasibility, risk mitigation, and alignment with organizational goals.

    Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships, fostering strategic partnerships that drive mutual growth, innovation, and safety.

    Prepare purchase requests for Company-owned tanks and oversee the timely and efficient delivery of goods and services, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and safety standards.

    Conduct thorough risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements, proactively identifying and mitigating potential supply chain disruptions.

    Assume responsibility for the procurement budget, driving initiatives to promote cost savings, safety, and operational efficiencies across the supply chain in collaboration with Finance.

    Provide strategic oversight of IT systems tracking shipments, inventory, and supply chain performance, implementing continuous improvements to enhance operational visibility, safety, and efficiency.

    Generate comprehensive procurement reports and analytics, providing valuable insights to senior management, finance, and other stakeholders.

    Future opportunity to lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

    Collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for procurement initiatives within the propane industry.

    Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, safety regulations, and regulatory changes impacting procurement, driving proactive adjustments to procurement strategies and practices.


    Key Projects:


    Develop and implement innovative procurement strategies tailored to the propane industry, focusing on revenue-generating assets like company-owned tanks to align with company objectives and drive cost-effectiveness.

    Prioritize maintaining seamless alignment between current inventory levels and projected demand through comprehensive data analysis.

    Provide oversight and guidance for the local real estate portfolio, ensuring alignment with company objectives and optimizing assets to support operational needs.


    Requirements:
    Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field.

    Minimum 10 years of progressively senior roles in procurement or supply chain management, with experience in the propane industry preferred.

    Deep expertise in contract negotiation, supplier management, and supply chain optimization, with a proven ability to drive safety, cost-efficiency, and innovation.

    Proficiency in advanced analytics and data-driven decision-making, with strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems tailored to the propane industry.

    Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
    Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building high-performing teams.
    Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to business challenges.
    Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    Strong business acumen and financial literacy, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
