- Establish strategic vision, goals, and objectives for the marketing procurement function, aligning with the company's mission and priorities.
- Lead the development of procurement strategies for marketing categories such as advertising, media buying, creative services, events, and promotional items.
- Provide strategic guidance to procurement team members, fostering innovation and collaboration.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with internal stakeholders like marketing leadership, finance, and legal departments.
- Cultivate strong partnerships with external vendors to drive value and competitive advantage.
- Act as the primary point of contact for senior leadership on procurement matters.
- Establish best practices and procedures for the marketing procurement function to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Lead initiatives to optimize costs and enhance value across the marketing supply chain.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to achieve favorable terms.
- Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-performing procurement team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Identify training needs to enhance team capabilities.
- Define KPIs to measure the effectiveness of marketing procurement activities.
- Monitor performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide feedback and recognition to team members.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a focus on marketing procurement.
- Demonstrated success in leadership roles and developing procurement strategies.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience with vendor contracts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to translate business goals into procurement plans.
- Deep understanding of procurement best practices and industry trends.
- Experience in leading high-performing teams and talent development.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Position available in Boston or Philadelphia area with up to 50% travel.
