- Facilitate skill/competency-building employment/internship preparation classes and workshops for students in the YABC.
- Provide job and career counseling to students.
- Support students' growth by providing continuous feedback and resources to meet the student's needs. Collaborate with GSS and Department of Education staff on site as well as the Corporate Relations Manager of GSS.
- Recruit students to participate in the LTW internship opportunities.
- Monitor LTW students to facilitate greater retention on internships.
- Develop internships in diverse range of employment fields, to match students' skills, maturity levels, and experience.
- Provide guidance to employers on maximizing internship experiences by working effectively with adolescents.
- Facilitate weekly seminars for students that focus on building students' skills in semester long preparation classes at YABC.
- Facilitate workshops on employment/Internship readiness to students.
- Assist with out-of-school issues and provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Schedule and attend regular site visits at student internship placements.
- Develop new sites for students to gain valuable job experiences.
- Track, evaluate and report on multiple aspects of program operations.
- Network and outreach with staff from other LTW sites to share learning, compare approaches and develop new program ideas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelors' degree or 3+ years of experience working with adolescents/young adults in education/employment relate fields required.
- Strong group facilitation or teaching skills required.
- Statistical and narrative record keeping/budgeting experience required.
- Experience developing internships for youth preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills a plus.
- Ability to work with diverse staff and students and network with diverse employer constituents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills a plus.
- Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based, youth and family development perspective.
- Knowledge of Trauma-Informed Practice a plus.
- Bilingual (Spanish) encouraged to apply.

Location: 1700 Fulton Street, Brooklyn NY 11213, room 460D
Hours: 35 Hours/Week; Exempt
(Mon/Wed/Thurs 12:15-8:15pm; Tues 10am-6pm; Fri 8am-4pm)
Salary: $45,000 - $50,000
Job Summary: The Internship & Career Coordinator prepares students for internships in our Learning to Work (LTW) program at the YABC and for future job opportunities. They develop and manage internships in sectors that meet students' interests. They work in collaboration and partnership with other Young Adult Borough Center (YABC) staff to provide students with educational and career resources, support and guidance.
