    Description

    Job Description

    In collaboration with Office Managing Partner (OMP) and Executive Operations Team (EOT), responsible for overseeing office operations and strategic planning, such as staffing, professional development, practice management, quality control, risk management, service delivery, and office performance. The role also involves fostering communication and collaboration among offices, practice groups, and administrative leadership. Situated in Houston, the position supports Shook's Houston and Denver offices.

    • Collaborates with OMP and firm leadership to align office goals and plans with the firm's strategic direction.
    • Establishes and enforces adherence to firm policies, quality standards, and risk management measures.
    • Engages with OMP and firm leadership to stay informed about regional legal changes affecting firm policies.
    • Participates in office Business Continuity planning.
    • Acts as the point of contact for building management and security.
    • Works closely with Records Management Department to ensure proper record retention procedures.
    • Supervises, trains, and develops office staff while promoting diversity in recruitment.
    • Assists OMP in associate and lateral recruiting efforts.
    • Collaborates with firm leadership on mentoring and development programs for staff.
    • Engages with key firm committees and practice group leaders on various initiatives.
    • Manages office budget, procurement process, and office space strategies.
    • Plays a significant role in office expansion, renovation, and space planning efforts.
    Requirements

    Bachelor's degree and four years of relevant experience, including two years in a supervisory role; experience in a law firm or office setting is necessary.
