Your Role- Advancing the design and simulation methodology for Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) at ZEISS in Pembroke, KY- Collaborating closely with product management to create technical specifications for PICs- Designing and simulating necessary building blocks for PICs- Simulating the electrical field emitted by PICs' edge or grating couplers- Creating schematic designs and simulations for PICs consisting of multiple building blocks- Developing various layouts for PICs- Evaluating PIC layouts with system engineering and communicating with external partners for PIC manufacturing

Your Profile- Completed master's degree in physics, mathematics, or engineering- PhD in the field of PIC design and simulation- Up-to-date knowledge of PIC engineering- Proven experience in designing and simulating PIC building blocks (e.g. using ANSYS LUMERICAL software MODES/FDTD)- Practical skills in schematic design and simulation of PICs (e.g. using ANSYS LUMERICAL software INTERCONNECT)- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently- Passion for innovation and a keen interest in new technologies- Enjoy working in agile, interdisciplinary teams
