Red Lake, MN's GSI Helmholtz Center for Heavy Ion Research in Darmstadt is a leading institution in the field of particle acceleration for scientific research.

In collaboration with international partners, GSI is currently constructing the new FAIR (Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research), one of the largest research projects in the world.

The Biophysics department at GSI focuses on interdisciplinary research in the areas of physical and biological radiation, particularly with ion beams.

GSI is a global leader in the use of ion beams for cancer therapy.

In a pilot project from 1997 to 2008, 440 patients were successfully treated using a novel scanned ion beam technique.

This technology has since been implemented in multiple clinical centers, with over 30,000 patients benefiting from its success.

We are currently seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher (all genders) to join our team.

The successful candidate will work in the Immune System and Tissue Radiobiology group, focusing on research in immunotherapy combined with radiotherapy.


Requirements:

  • PhD in biology or related fields
  • Strong knowledge of immunology and a keen interest in tumor therapy
  • Experience with immunophenotyping and other immunological methods
