THE POSITION:


DESCRIPTION OF WORK:


In this role, your main responsibility will be to gather, organize, and prioritize time-sensitive data in order to provide crucial emergency information to the relevant parties.

This includes notifying them about necessary information to determine the appropriate course of action, such as response and recovery resources.

You will collaborate closely with various entities, including municipal, county, and governmental organizations, as well as open sources, media, and non-government organizations, to continuously enhance operational quality for the benefit of customers and citizens.

Effective communication skills are essential for assisting in the implementation of agency strategic initiatives, as well as for performing response/recovery, situational awareness, and resource support and planning.

Making critical decisions based on collected and analyzed information is crucial to ensure proper coordination and alerting of all relevant individuals.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to contribute to process improvement, recommend equipment updates, and participate in disaster preparedness through exercises and drills.

Furthermore, during a Response Center activation, you may also have the chance to learn and perform other roles.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Fulltime employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 PM to 9:00 AM, will work three 12.5hour days per week
  • In the event of an emergency/disaster situation or training exercise, this position may be required to travel, work up to 12hour shifts, and work outside of the normal work hours, including weekends and overnights.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:


  • Three years of emergency coordination experience within the operation of a large municipal, county, statewide or national emergency center; and an associate degree in emergency management or other closely related field;
    or:
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
