The service package of the Rural Development Center (DLR) Rheinpfalz for vocational training, consulting, research, and land development in the wine and horticulture industry.


As a result of the agricultural administrative reform in September 2003, previously independent institutions were merged into the newly established DLR Rheinpfalz, which now serves as a center for all rural services in the state.

The former cultural office in Neustadt was reorganized as the Department of Land Development, Rural Land Consolidation, and the areas of the former Neustadt Teaching and Research Institute, as well as the horticultural services provided by the state in various locations, were integrated into the DLR Rheinpfalz as the Departments of Education, Viticulture and Oenology, Horticulture, and Phyto-medicine.

Today, the DLR Rheinpfalz employs around 350 staff members and operates throughout the state.

In addition to education, consulting, adult education, experimental work, and land development in the field of special crops such as viticulture and horticulture, the state of Rhineland-Palatinate also conducts applied research in viticulture and oenology exclusively at this institution.
