    Description

    Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks a full-time Lower School Teacher of Educational Technology beginning September 2024.

    The Lower School Teacher of Educational Technology is considered both a classroom teacher and a faculty technology integration specialist. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding and appreciation of theories of learning and pedagogy for both children and adults. The ideal candidate will be patient, organized, hard-working, eager to learn, and feel comfortable with collaboration. At least two years of teaching experience with elementary-aged students and proven experience integrating technology in a school environment is preferred. Relevant experience building and conducting successful professional development opportunities for faculty and administration is ideal. This position is supervised by the Lower School Principal.

    The Lower School Teacher of Educational Technology will be part of a team of two teachers and the team will collaborate and work closely to deliver the established curriculum. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Co-teaching and leading Lower School technology classes;
    • Inspiring, encouraging, teaching, and supporting Lower School faculty in the educational use of technology;
    • Developing professional development for faculty and administration;
    • Maintaining and troubleshooting software and hardware, both in the tech lab and in Lower School classrooms;
    • Delivering curriculum to address digital citizenship, digital literacy, and age appropriate social media challenges;
    • Using software to edit videos;
    • Maintaining and providing support for Google Suite products;
    • Developing projects which stimulate creativity and result in 3D projects and Robotics;
    • Incorporating applications of technology into the Lower School program responsively;
    • Presenting and partnering with parents and families around digital literacy; and
    • Collaborating with educational technologists in the Middle and Upper Schools. A successful candidate will:
      • Demonstrate delight in working with children ages five to ten years old;
      • Be technologically savvy and have experience working with computers, Chromebooks, iPads, and interactive boards;
      • Enjoy problem solving and have a persistence in implementing solutions;
      • Specialize in discipline-specific applications of technology (Arts, Math, Science, etc.); and
      • Follow the latest technology trends and concerns facing young children and families.
