We, the OTTO Accounting team, are a friendly team of fourteen within the Finance & Controlling department.

We take care of all topics, projects, and processes related to financial accounting with a focus on year-end closing and asset accounting.

The OTTO Accounting department is responsible for the proper accounting of all business processes of Otto (GmbH & Co KG) according to commercial and international accounting standards.

You can expect a dynamic team that sees working students as full team members and is always open to new ideas and suggestions.


Many talk about "home office" - we talk about "mobile work": Our teams decide for themselves what balance of mobile work and on-site presence makes sense for them.

The team meets every Wednesday on campus in a highly modern office complex to strengthen the team spirit.

  • Through operational work in asset accounting and independent determination and recording of other balance sheet positions, you will gain relevant and reliable experience in SAP-FI and accounting according to IFRS and HGB.
  • By participating in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to IFRS and HGB, you will learn about the professional closing process of an internationally operating company.
  • You support us by independently processing practical accounting issues, process analyses, and projects.
  • You demonstrate your communication skills in dealing with team members, auditors, and adjacent departments.
  • In various information sessions with adjacent departments, you will gain insights into the finance department of OTTO.
