Description
Are you a High School Junior or Senior and are interested in learning a trade? A Youth Apprenticeship is a great opportunity to gain new skills and get paid while still in schoolUnder the direct supervision of a mentor, you will help set up and operate lathes and milling machines to machine work pieces for our customers
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Reads and understands American and European blue prints and geometric tolerances
- Demonstrates proper set up of tooling, work holding and positive stops
- Sets work coordinates and tool length offsets
- Loads CNC programs and makes machine adjustments to maintain part specifications
- Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined work piece to specifications.
- Inspects parts using height gauges, calipers, and micrometers and records the dimensional data on the inspection sheet

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School Junior or Senior enrolled in a related Tech Ed class.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos, as well as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may occasionally assist with lifting and/or moving up to 80 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
