The Family Engagement Administrator leads the design and implementation of professional development opportunities for the district's Family University program, including the management of the online learning platform.

The Family University program is a comprehensive and coordinated program of training, peer-to-peer sessions, technical assistance and other supports to build the capacity of families and school teams in facilitating effective family and community engagement strategies linked to learning in support of student academic outcomes.

The Family Engagement Administrator serves as a pivotal link between the district, families, and the community, embodying the district's mission, vision, and strategic priorities of the CEO, Board of School Commissioners, and the Engagement Office.

This role plays a crucial part in fostering positive relationships, creating effective partnerships, and promoting student achievement and school improvement.

Collaborating with schools, parent groups, and community partners, the Family Engagement Administrator will design and implement impactful family and community engagement learning opportunities at both school and district levels.

Essential Functions

• Develops curriculum and manages a multi-tiered training delivery system supporting families and school staff.
• Builds a professional team of trainers to deliver high-impact learning experiences.
• Works with subject matter experts to develop and facilitate school-specific trainings.
• Evaluates training programs and instructor effectiveness.
• Conducts needs assessments and reviews qualitative and quantitative research results to determine training priorities.
• Manages the scope, budget, and schedule of parent education programs.
• Develops, implements, and manages parent education programming for families and trainings for school-based staff
• Collaborates with external partners to design and implement special events and initiatives supporting families.
• Designs trainings, learning modules, and professional development aligned with the Family Engagement Policy.
• Builds the capacity of the FE team to link family engagement to student achievement.
• Works with OCEE and key leadership to identify and develop opportunities to provide differentiated supports for FCE team members.
• Assesses FE stakeholders' needs, uses evaluation data for improvements.
• Develops strategies and plans for long-term capacity building efforts.
• Manages day-to-day project activities, keeping up with best practices.
• Keeps abreast of technology and best practices to support training skill mastery
• Keeps abreast of best practices in adult learning and training delivery
• Provides technical assistance, monitors school, family, and community engagement practices
• Ensures schools comply with guidance associated with the Elementary and Secondary Elementary Act (ESEA)/Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
• Supports school leaders in implementing research-based family and community engagement strategies.
• Identifies resources and training opportunities to address the unique needs of diverse school communities.
• Educates and trains schools on FCE policies, procedures, and processes.
• Assists schools with the development and sustainability of School Family Councils and organized parent groups to ensure that parent and community members have an active role in school-based decision-making processes
• Develop quarterly training opportunities for teachers that build their capacity to support families' ability to be partners in their students' academic success
• Expands the district's community reach by actively engaging with local community-based organizations and external partners.
• Promotes positive relationships and effective partnerships between the district and the community.
• Facilitates communication between school personnel, families, and partners.
• Creates monthly Title I Parent and Family Engagement Newsletter to be shared with school leaders and family engagement points-of-contact
• Serves as a liaison between the Engagement Office and relevant stakeholders.
• Prepares reports for review by the Engagement Office leadership team.

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university. Master's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
• Three years of experience developing and facilitating training opportunities for adult learners.
• Three years of experience in systems change, community organizing, communications, or development within nonprofit, government, or business settings.
• Specific experience working with schools, community-based, or family-supporting organizations.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with volunteer and community partners.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the capacity to deliver effective public presentations.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to identify systems affecting parents.
• Interpersonal skills that foster team building and collaboration.
• Capability to engage parents and communities in school activities.
• Proficiency in organizing networks of support for programs or initiatives.
• Proficiency in using computer applications, including databases, word processing, email, and web-based tools.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in working in a high-paced environment, with competing deadlines and multiple priorities.
