The Sentef lab, specializing in Theoretical Solid State Physics, focuses on theoretical and numerical methods for controlling light-matter interactions in quantum materials.

We are looking for two PhD candidates (f/m/d) to join our team for a period of 3 years, subject to job release.

Job description:

The successful candidates will work on projects related to the manipulation of quantum materials using tailored laser pulses and the study of their emergent properties on ultrafast time scales.

This research involves collaboration with experimental groups and may focus on the interface of Floquet engineering and cavity quantum materials.

The specific details of the projects will be discussed between the PhD advisor and the candidates (f/m/d).

As part of our team, the candidates (f/m/d) will have the opportunity to collaborate with national and international partners. We also support further qualifications, including opportunities for international experience.

Active participation in group discussions and current research topics at the Institute for Theoretical Physics (ITP) and the Bremen Center for Computational Materials Science (BCCMS) is expected.
