    Job Summary:
    Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing as the Payroll Manager at Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU). This role demands a payroll professional with a track record of implementing best practices and workflow enhancements for efficient payroll operations. Additionally, this position involves supporting HR operations by leveraging knowledge of NEIU's benefits, practices, procedures, and policies.

    Job Description:
    • Manage bi-weekly payroll processing for all NEIU employees under the supervision of the Deputy Director of Payroll and Benefits.
    • Address employee inquiries regarding payroll matters such as transactions, adjustments, W2s, and more.
    • Review, process, and maintain documentation for changes in employee information and troubleshoot any related issues promptly.
    • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all payroll transactions while maintaining organized records.
    • Handle updates to employee information including Direct Deposit and W2 addresses.
    • Execute other assigned duties as needed.
    Minimum Qualifications:
    1. High school diploma or equivalent.
    2. Completion of three (3) years' worth of college coursework in relevant fields or equivalent work experience in payroll management.

    Departmental Preferences:
    • Over 2 years of Workday payroll experience.
    • Preferably holds a Bachelor's degree.
    • Strong understanding of payroll best practices.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
    • Ability to adapt to changing environments.
    (Background check required for this role.)
    Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 based on experience.
    Benefits: Comprehensive package including generous time off, educational benefits, and health coverage.
    Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (flexibility may be needed based on department requirements)
