Description

Under the direction of the Deputy Comptroller, manage and review the work and staff and entry-level supervisors in payroll to accomplish plans and results.

Preview, release, and process payroll for Countywide agencies workforce on a biweekly basis.

Oversee staff members in the processing of appointments, promotions, employment separations, anniversary increases, changes in name or address, federal and state withholding taxes, and other changes to the payroll master information.

Prepare and distribute the Time and Attendance reports on a bi-weekly basis.

Complete other procedures relevant to payroll, including balancing, depositing all amounts deducted for payroll taxes, preparing and distributing W-2 forms, and other related tasks.

Maintain confidential records.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree or higher
    is required

  • Five (5) years of payroll function, payroll delivery, audit, processing systems, or directly related experience
    is required

  • Three (3) years of prior supervisory experience
    is required.

Degrees awarded outside of the United States with the exception of those awarded in one of the United States territories and Canada, must be credentialed by the World Education Services (WES), Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) or a National Association of Credential Evaluation (NACES) member organization.
