    Description

    The State University of New York College of Optometry is in search of a talented Medical Equipment Technician to join various departments at the College, such as patient-care clinics, student teaching labs, and research labs.

    Applicants should have a solid background in working with electronics and electro-mechanical devices, with at least two years of experience and knowledge of servicing ophthalmic medical equipment.

    Responsibilities:

    • Install, service, and conduct preventive maintenance on medical instrumentation efficiently.
    • Maintain equipment calibrations.
    • Manage inventory of supplies, tools, and parts.
    • Troubleshoot issues with ophthalmic equipment and devices.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with ophthalmic equipment vendors.

    The salary for this role ranges from $70,000 to $80,000, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, dental insurance, retirement plan, flexible spending program, and paid sick and personal days. The College is also a qualifying employer in the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program.

    Expected start date is 6/10/2024 (flexibility possible).
