    Our Focus:


    The Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Avionics plays a crucial role in delivering airworthy products and advancing technologies to meet production cost and rate targets. Success in this role hinges on collaborating with various stakeholders and subject matter experts throughout the product life cycle - from components to systems to the aircraft level. This position emphasizes the integrated strategy of designing, constructing, and testing airworthy components, systems, and aircraft, with a specific focus on Avionics, Flight Controls, and Electrical Wiring and Interconnection Systems (EWIS).

    Supernal offers a collaborative open workspace environment that reflects our core values. The role requires on-site presence five days a week during 2nd shift hours, with flexibility based on business needs.

    Your Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement build plans based on program milestones, critical paths, and risk registry
    • Create work instructions for building and testing airworthy components and systems
    • Define work center equipment, hardware, and fixtures for on-board usage
    • Drive quality assurance activities including incoming inspection, functional testing, and process/product validation
    • Identify and acquire necessary equipment for functional testing purposes
    • Collaborate with technicians and experts to build and test airworthy products
    • Advocate for build team goals with other departments, stakeholders, and suppliers
    • Offer design for manufacturing guidelines to ensure successful build processes company-wide
    • Prioritize build initiatives according to product and technology development plans
    • Utilize technology partners' expertise to expedite product development
    • Create and execute certification plans for innovative manufacturing technologies
    • Support structural test and demonstration article fabrication efforts
    • Establish manufacturing standard practices and protocols
    • Assist in detailed design, systems architecture, and systems integration work
    • Participate in reviewing and approving supplier's statements of work, work instructions, and specifications
    • Contribute to the aircraft maintenance manual development process
    • Collaborate with PMO organization to implement build plans
    • Requires up to 10% domestic and international travel
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Your Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in STEM or related field required; Master's degree preferred
    • At least five (5) years of experience in urban air mobility, aviation, or automotive industries (a combination of education and experience can be considered)
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

    Additional Skills:

    • Experience with Avionics, Flight Controls, Electrical Wiring, or Interconnection Systems (EWIS), Electronics is a plus
    • Experience with Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) functional checks is advantageous
    • Familiarity with composite airframes and structures is beneficial
    • Background in integrated product teams or systems of systems framework is valuable
    • Past involvement in designing and developing airworthy products is a benefit
    • Knowledge of aviation certification environments is advantageous
    • Experience with prototyping environments is favorable
    • Project management experience is a positive
