    Description

    Source One is a consulting services company and we're currently looking for the following individual to work as a consultant with our direct client, a global medical device company in Irvine, CA.

    Title: Manufacturing Engineer

    Location: Irvine CA, (on-site)

    w2 hourly pay range: $ $46.00 per hour

    Duration: 12 months with likely extension

    Job Summary: As an entry level MS&T engineer supporting Manufacturing and New Product Introductions, you are responsible for achieving timely and cost-effective manufacturing of high-quality medical devices. The Transfer Engineer is accountable for developing and maintaining quality and control of manufacturing processes. Key duties include collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve company objectives, contributing to technical root cause investigations, executing risk-based decisions, resolving and documenting manufacturing investigations, and representing manufacturing in cross-functional projects. Develops and improves manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods. Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.

    Primary Responsibilities:


    • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.


    • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.


    • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.


    • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.


    • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. .


    • Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.


    • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.


    • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.


    • Maintains product and process data base by writing computer programs; entering data.


    • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.


    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.


    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

    Education:


    • Degree in Engineering or related discipline

    Must Haves:

    0-5 years of experience

    Degree in Engineering or related discipline

    Strong Excel (pivot tables, vlook ups) , MS Office, ability to learn new systems and processes

    Strong communication skills and work cross functionally

    Ability to be hands on in trouble shooting equipment (or experience in doing so)

    Preferred:

    Medical Device Industry experience preferred (especially if they have 3-5 years of experience)
