Duties:
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Performing routine and specific budget administration functions in the review, formulation, execution, justification, and presentation of assigned budget areas.
- Participating in preparing and reviewing NIH budget submissions by developing or checking tabular and narrative portions of formulation budgets, starting with the preliminary budget through the Congressional Justification phase. Researching, compiling, and summarizing grants, training, personal salaries and expenses, object class, and other line item information needed to formulate budget estimates. Selecting and incorporating budgetary information required for formulation of budget estimates.
- Monitoring and tracking obligations for assigned ICs and programs. As appropriate, reporting operating level problems to your supervisor and other OB officials.
- Analyzing relevant legislation and subsequent Congressional actions with implications for budgetary authority as well as workforce levels, i.e., projected Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) usage, and filled positions, i.e., estimated headcount).

Qualifications:
- You qualify at the GS09 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements:
- OR
- Completion of a Master's or equivalent degree in an accredited or preaccredited college or university; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; your education is related to the position.
- OR
- A combination of post baccalaureate education related to the position and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
- You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.
