What you will learn in your apprenticeship at Edgewood

We drive the world forward. Are you interested not only in ship engines and steam turbines, but also in the technology behind them? Are automotive engines not big enough for you? Where others stop building, we are just getting started. Do you want to become a construction mechanic (m/f/d) in the field of large machinery? Then an apprenticeship with us is just right for you. We are looking for motivated young talents for our globally operating company.

Here are some facts about the apprenticeship:

  • You will gain in-depth knowledge and skills in the production, maintenance, and repair of engines, equipment, and systems, as well as in quality control
  • You will receive practical training in common welding techniques and the construction of cooling water and fuel lines
  • You will design sheet metal structures and learn techniques such as cutting, forming, and joining
  • You will work independently according to welding plans
  • Your basic/vocational training will take place in our training workshop, and practical training will be directly in our production
  • You will attend the technical vocational school Angerstraße at Berliner Tor in Hamburg in blocks
  • You can expect a varied workday with assignments in assembly and on board ships
  • We will continue to train you through in-house training sessions
