Position Title:
CCT Transport Nurse Supervisor***
Reports To: Director of Clinical Services

Summary:


This position is a leadership role that is responsible for the efficient and quality operation of the Critical Care Transport Program within Pinellas County.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Daily oversight of the Critical Care Transport Program.
  • Assists in the design, development, planning, and implementation of departmental goals, departmental policies, and health care standards based on current trends within the medical society.
  • Assists with coordination of CCT marketing activities with all healthcare facilities (hospitals, physician's offices, and SNFs) and EMS agencies to provide education on the CCT program to maintain good relationships and CCT utilization.
  • Monitors the quality of all services provided, ensuring that standards are met or exceeded and promptly directs and coordinates corrective actions when necessary.
  • Maintains the CCT nursing schedule to comply with contractual obligations as well as controlling overtime.
  • Continue to function as a fulltime Pinellas County CCT RN on the transport vehicles.
  • Assist with a summary of monthly CCT QAs and document in monthly quality report.
  • Assist with monthly reports for backup CCT utilization.
  • Establishes quality assurance and improvement programs to monitor department functions and areas of clinical responsibility.
  • Assures contractual certification obligations and accreditations for specialized medical programs are upheld and remain current (CAMTS).
  • Performance of other such duties as assigned may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Active Florida Licensed Registered Nurse
  • Associate degree or higher in nursing
  • Pinellas County CCT Certification or within 6 months of hire
  • BLS and ACLS certifications current
  • PHTLS, PALS, and NRP certifications current or within 6 months of hire
  • Advanced Trauma certification (TNCC, TPATC, ATLS, ATCN) or within 6 months of hire
  • Advanced Nursing Certification (CCRN, CTRN, CFRN) within 6 months.
  • Three to Five years of experience within the industry or an ICU/CCU/ER.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience in course curriculum, program, and test criteria development.
  • Prior critical care transport experience or ambulance transport experience.

Physical Requirements:

The employee is required to sit; climb or balance; step, stoop, kneel, or crouch.

The employee must frequently lift and/or carry up to 140 pounds and occasionally lift and/or carry up to 200 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


Working Environment:


Works outdoors and indoors with occasional exposure to hazardous conditions and to blood/body fluids, requires respirator use, fumes/odors, extended day, and temperature changes.

Frequently works with others, face-to-face contact with exposure to noise, mechanical equipment, and electrical equipment. Performs shift work and performs duties frequently in a mobile environment and confined areas.
