As a Tax Investigator, you will be responsible for conducting investigations to identify and address tax fraud, evasion, and non-compliance.

This role involves reviewing financial records, conducting interviews, and gathering evidence to support legal actions against individuals or businesses that have violated tax laws.

Additionally, you will stay up-to-date on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide accurate information to clients.

Responsibilities:


  • Reviewing tax returns and financial documents for discrepancies or inconsistencies.
  • Conducting interviews with taxpayers, accountants, and other relevant parties.
  • Reaching out to the IRS to gather transcripts for our clients.
  • Data Entry using Excel, Google sheets, and CRM system.
  • Analyzing financial data to identify patterns of tax evasion or fraud.
  • Collaborating with other agencies and stakeholders to gather evidence and build cases.
  • Providing expert testimony in legal proceedings.
  • Developing strategies to prevent tax fraud and improve compliance.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum 12 years of experience as a Tax Investigator or similar role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting, finance, or taxation preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly and effectively to clients and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in tax preparation software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools and technology.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and case management.
  • Commitment to client service and confidentiality, with a high degree of professionalism and integrity.
