RESEARCH ASSOCIATE (m/f/d)

Full-time, initially limited to two years. Extension is intended. Remuneration is based on pay group 13.

The advancing climate change and its associated impacts increase the need for a comprehensive energy system transformation.

In order to assess which technologies should be integrated into a sustainable energy system and to support the decisions to be made for the transformation of the energy system, energy system modeling and optimization form an important basis.

Against this background, the advertised task includes the following main topics based on existing institute-specific preliminary work:

YOUR TASKS

  • Modeling and optimization of sustainable energy systems with a special focus on the integration of volatile photovoltaic and wind power generation, as well as the production of hydrogen and synthetic fuels
  • Technoeconomic and ecological evaluation of different flexibility measures (e.g. energy storage, demand flexibility) and energy carrier supply chains (e.g. hydrogen supply)
  • Active participation in university teaching in the field of renewable energies
  • Support in the organization and implementation of scientific events
  • Support in the acquisition of thirdparty funded projects with a focus on renewable energies

YOUR PROFILE
Requirements

  • Completed university degree (Master's or equivalent) in particular in the field of energy technology, renewable energies, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering or similar.
