    Duties

    At the full performance level, the Systems Coordinator provides direction and support for the delivery of SSA programs and services through the use of automated and electronic processing systems. This includes managing and maintaining the existing systems and providing advice and assistance for all automated and systems security issues. Serves as a liaison regarding systems-related issues between local office personnel and other SSA components and outside agencies.

    Qualifications

    Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-11 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience include identifying, monitoring, and troubleshooting problems with systems and applications to provide support and communicate solutions; evaluating new programs and equipment and make recommendations on implementation; analyzing problems in the automated data processing (ADP) systems to identify solutions; providing information to management on current equipment/systems use to evaluate additional or future needs.

    Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

    Applicants for promotion to GS-12 must have 52 weeks at GS-11.

    Time in grade requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

    Additional information

    Position to be filled under the provisions of the Management Officials Promotion Plan. The best-qualified list for this vacancy may be used to fill the same or similar positions in a component(s) under the same Deputy Commissioner. Additional selections may be made within 6 months of the date the best qualified list is issued.

    LOCALITY PAY:

    Salary will be set in accordance with locality pay provisions. Candidates currently receiving a higher locality pay than the office applied for are advised that should they be selected; they will lose entitlement to the higher locality pay.

    OTHER NOTES:

    This position is temporary not-to-exceed 1 year. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended or become permanent.

    This is not a career ladder position; GS-12 is the full performance level.

    This position is eligible for telework.

    Travel expenses for temporary assignments will be paid as appropriate according to applicable travel rules and/or regulations.
