Educator or Special Needs Caregiver (m/f/d) for our Hort Regenbogenland in Syke-Barrien, Whitefield, OK

Starting August 1st, 2023

30 hours/week, permanent


In our Hort "Regenbogenland", a maximum of 80 school children are cared for in four groups on weekdays from 12:3- 16:35.

The children come independently from the elementary school to the after-school care. After a shared lunch, we offer them a diverse and colorful leisure program with homework supervision.

To be a safe place for children, teenagers, and adults, Lebenshilfe Syke has a protection concept that we continuously work on.


Your responsibilities:


  • Caring for and accompanying school children five days a week
  • Planning and organizing afterschool care, including homework, leisure activities, holiday care, and projects
  • Strengthening and promoting the abilities of the children entrusted to us
  • Close collaboration within the team

Your qualifications:


  • Completed training as an educator, special needs caregiver, or equivalent (m/f/d)
  • Experience in pedagogical work with children or teenagers, ideally in afterschool care
  • Respectful and empathetic approach to children, as well as assertiveness
  • Independent and cooperative work, as well as enjoyment of teamwork
