Are you ready to be at the forefront of transforming Kent County's digital presence? We're seeking a passionate and innovative Marketing and Communication Professional to spearhead the evolution of our online platforms.

In this role, you'll take the lead in curating and managing digital content across various channels, with a primary focus on the County's website to create a more engaging user experience.

For the first time ever, we're bringing website management in-house, presenting a unique opportunity to shape the online identity of Kent County.


Your responsibilities will extend beyond mere maintenance; you'll be tasked with strategically developing the website to align with organizational objectives and effectively communicate our mission and values to the community.

Moreover, you will lead the development of a comprehensive plan for crafting compelling digital stories that not only highlight the diverse talents and contributions of our team members but also showcase the invaluable services we provide to our community.

Proficiency in video production and editing will be essential as we aim to further leverage this dynamic medium to convey impactful narratives.


As a key member of our team, you'll collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all digital platforms.

Minimum Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Digital Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or relevant discipline combined with four years progressively responsible experience in the design, development, and implementation of marketing, public relations and/or communications programs and activities, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Required Knowledge and Skills:


  • Proficiency with website content management systems, such as WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, or comparable alternative.
  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices, web analytics (e.g., Google Analytics), and web accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Demonstrated ability to create highquality, engaging, SEOfriendly content, preferably in a government or public sector environment.
  • Familiarity with graphic design principles and tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fastpaced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering highquality work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including elected officials, executives, community leaders, and residents across various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, with varying levels of education and communication skills.
