Responsibilities:

- *Referral Bonus Eligible*Kent County Department of Public Works is seeking a part-time Scalehouse Attendant to provide assistance at a variety of facilities including the North Kent Transfer Station, South Kent Landfill, Waste-to
  • Energy Facility and the Recycling and Education Center.
The attendant serves as the first point of contact for our Solid Waste Customers and is responsible for providing courteous customer service. Duties in this often fast paced environment include answering customer questions, weighing loads and assessing and collecting fees for all transactions including cash, debit or credit card. Also will complete reports and daily logs.
This position will be scheduled to work
2 days per week (10 hour days), including frequent Fridays and Saturdays.

The PT Scalehouse Attendant will be responsible for working the majority of hours to cover for FT Scalehouse Attendants on vacation/PTO.

A weekly average greater than 20 hours per week is expected over the course of the year, and potentially multiple 40 hour weeks are expected during peak vacation seasons.


Minimum Qualifications:


Required:


  • High school graduate or equivalent.
and- Six months of successful work experience with proven ability in handling monetary transactions.

Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. The ability to operate a personal computer and calculator to perform transactions quickly and accurately is essential. Must be able to work independently, and must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time.
