Essential Duties and Responsibilities **include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Functions as a liaison between patients, physician practices, internal departments, hospitals and other organizations.
  • Close collaboration with the physician and staff.
  • Prepares the charts for clinic day.
  • Interface with surgery scheduler as needed.
  • Educates patients on the logistics of surgery; location, time, what to bring and how to prepare.
  • Completes correspondence including faxing, mailing, work comp reports, draft letters, and maintenance of medical appointment schedules for the practice.
  • Responsible for assisting to organize any meetings, private records reviews and depositions for assigned physician.
  • Represents physicians by screening incoming telephone calls; recording and transmitting messages; receiving/announcing scheduled attorneys, salespeople and/or visitors. Screen potential patients and visitors; arranging referrals to other health care providers; scheduling appointments for consultations, xrays, lab tests, physical therapy, MRI's, CT scans, etc.
  • Travel as needed per the physician's request.
  • Organize and maintain the practice calendar.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service and communication skills within the team and to patients
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, emphasis on word, excel, and outlook.
  • Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment including problem solving, decision making, strategic thinking, planning, and communication.
  • Superior organization skills
