$65, $91,601.95 Annually


Job Summary:
Civilian Investigators are responsible for conducting a variety of investigative or support responsibilities in the Department of Public Safety.

This is a non-sworn, unarmed position and will not have the primary mission of responding to in-progress incidents or making arrests.

Provides investigative support to Department employees and attorneys representing the Department. Performs related duties as assigned. This job is designated as uncovered. The incumbent serves at the pleasure of the Director of the Department of Public Safety.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a minimum of 20 years of law enforcement experience at the local, state, or federal level.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Five (5) years of assignments in investigative details and experience in homicide or law enforcement use of force investigations.


Pre-Employment Requirements:
Applicants must complete an examination process. A polygraph and background investigation are required for successful applicants. DPS supports a drug-free work environment through pre-employment drug testing.
