Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Operations & Technology team.- In support of this dynamic and growing sector as a Senior Business Analyst you will be responsible for the investigative work determining business requirements and specifying efficient business processes.
- You will work hand in hand with the client, product & engineering teams to plan each assigned project associated with Enterprise Rights Program with defined milestones.
Business Analysis and Client Engagement
- Develop deliverables, including but not limited to, workflows, wireframes and process models, detailed business requirements, use cases, business rules, release notes, change management documentation, etc.
- Follow established demand management process to engage business partners on requirements gathering
- Follow established governance process to prioritize requests
Project & Development Delivery
- Partner with the product & engineering delivery team to assess technical feasibility
- Manage blockers and impediments to the release plan
- Identify and mitigate project risks
- Develop and maintain project plans to track milestones and detailed tasks
- Track open issues
- Write and communicate project status
- Issue weekly project status reports
Responsibilities:
- Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.
- Possesses expertise in the business unit(s) they support, as well as, an understanding of the IT organization's systems and capabilities.
- Analyzes business partner's operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions.
- Assists in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology.
- Translates high level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications.
- Educates the IT organization on the direction of the business.
- Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to final implementation.
- Possesses an understanding of technological trends and uses this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprise's competitive edge.
- May make recommendations for buy versus build decision.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 35 years in business systems analysis with mastery of requirements gathering and process definition
- Data mapping, data reviews, and analysis is helpful.
- If they can build data models, that is good too as that is the core of it.
- Good communication and people skills.
- If they've worked in places where they've done big data (ecommerce, etc.) it would be helpful but the specific industry is not a necessary.
- A demonstrated track record of success in forging and developing excellent relationship with key business partners and stakeholders
Required Characteristics
- Knowledge of Media Entertainment, Intellectual Property, IP Rights, Music Rights and associated end to end business process
- Experience with Intellectual Property, Rights Management Systems
- Strong presentation skills, both written and verbal. High comfortlevel with MS Office apps especially PowerPoint is a must
- Ability to effectively prioritize, manage aggressive timelines and professionally navigate high pressure situations
- Highly organized and detailoriented
- Strong analytical & problemsolving skills
- Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, executive team, external partners
Desired Characteristics
- Technical expertise in such areas as SQL, Data Modelling & ability to create detailed interface & date migration mapping/documents
- Experience with User Interface and/or Report design
- Experience with Process Improvement methodologies
- Experience with various formal methodologies for Agile software development
- Business savvy, with the ability to interpret technology issues for consumption by nontechnology business partners
