Description

The Fraunhofer Society currently operates 76 institutes and research facilities in Germany and is the world's leading organization for applied research.

With a team of approximately 30,000 employees, we conduct research projects with an annual budget of 2.9 billion euros.

The Fraunhofer Institute for Toxicology and Experimental Medicine (ITEM) is one of these institutes, dedicated to contract research in all aspects of human health for the past 40 years.

Our goal is to protect human life from health hazards in our industrialized world and contribute to the development of new therapeutic approaches.

At the Personalized Tumor Therapy division of Fraunhofer ITEM in Regensburg, we focus on studying metastasis of solid tumors and developing new diagnostic tests and treatments for systemic cancer.

Our current objective is to establish standardized immuno-oncology screening assays using patient-derived material and enhance our imaging and data analysis capabilities.

We are seeking a scientist with a strong interest in drug and target discovery, image analysis, and bioinformatics to bridge the gap between automated laboratory experiments and data analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • You will contribute to research projects and independently perform research tasks.

Requirements:

  • Master's or PhD degree in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular medicine, bioinformatics, computer science, or a related field with a strong connection to natural or engineering sciences.
  • Experience in biomedicine, cancer biology, metastasis formation, and/or immunooncology is preferred.
