Description
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in an art or design field such as art, drawing, painting, illustration, digital design, or interactive media;
OR
Associate's degree in the same fields AND two years of experience.
Duties Description
Customer Service and Communication
Forms Creation & Editing
- Working with OSC staff, follow agency standards to create new forms (including fillable fields), and edit existing forms using Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Joomla, or other software. Share forms with appropriate offices for approval and online posting.
- Working with OSC staff, create new materials (posters, flyers, brochures, nametags, labels, logos, infographics, etc.) using design software for digital and print media. Merge nametags, certificates, mailings and other materials using Excel.
- Transmit electronic files to printers and see that files print properly. Mount large format posters, as needed. Laminate posters, cards, calendars and other materials as requested. Hang posters in hallway frames, as needed. Complete other finishing work as needed including cutting and binding. Act as a backup and assistant for high volume, confidential scanning function. Coordinate with external vendors for production services as needed. Document work, including utilizing production logs, as needed.

- Dependable and flexible realize it is a small unit that must always be staffed.
- Computer/Software Proficiency
- Adobe Creative Suite and desire to learn new software as needed. Experience with Microsoft Word and mail/merges in Microsoft Excel a plus. Joomla or other web content management software a plus.
- Experience creating fillable forms in Word, Adobe Acrobat, Joomla or other software a plus.
- Experience with print production using Xerox machines a plus.
- Experience with print finishing work including mounting posters, using laminating equipment, and various binding techniques a plus.
Telecommuting:
The Office of the New York State Comptroller (OSC) supports telecommuting where it is reasonable to do so based upon the agency's mission and operational needs.
After the initial 8 calendar week restriction, if any employee's duties and work performance are aligned with telecommuting they may be allowed to do so.
Upon approval to telecommute, OSC employees may telecommute up to 5 days per pay period.Reasonable Accommodation:
