Responsibilities

Media designers for image and sound are employed in small and medium-sized companies in film and television production


They work as:

  • Production assistants,
  • Camera and sound assistants,
  • Assistant in postproduction, or
  • Assistant director.
Further career development and specialization typically focuses on one of these areas.

The medien colleg rostock has a wide network of contacts with media companies in the region and beyond. Our graduates have found employment from Rügen to Hamburg, from Rostock to Munich. We utilize these diverse connections to support our graduates in entering the workforce.
Qualifications
Moving images are what moves you. You prefer to be behind the camera rather than in front of it. You love to tell stories through film. Then this training program is the right fit for you.
Our school-based training consists of two phases.
After the first two years, students take the exam to become a state-recognized

Design Technical Assistant
Specializing in Audiovisual Media

After the third year, either through a company internship or direct work experience, students take the exam to become a

Media Designer for Image and Sound (IHK)
before the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Rostock.
