Freelance Grant Researcher and Writer:


Role/Functions:

-
Research Prospective Funders: Identify potential funding sources (individuals, foundations) and create a detailed portfolio for tracking and budgeting [~1 month].

Execute Letters of Intent, Grant Applications, and Reports: Prepare and submit necessary documentation to secure funding.

Assist with Building Partnerships: As time allows, help develop partnerships throughout the city of Redlands and recruit new Chamber members.


Compensation:

-
Function (1): Hourly rate of $25/hour, up to a maximum of 30 hours/week.

  • 20 hours/week = $500 times X weeks
  • 25 hours/week = $625 times X weeks
  • 30 hours/week = $750 times X weeks

Functions (2-4): Compensation based on a percentage of grants received:

  • Grant range $1,000
  • $10,000: 0.06% of the grant amount
  • Grant range $11,000 $50,000: 0.04% of the grant amount
  • Grant range $51,000 $100,000: 0.03% of the grant amount
  • Grants exceeding $101,000: 0.02% of the grant amount

Requirements:


  • At least 5 years of experience in grant writing.
  • Subscription to an online funder search engine like Candid.
  • Comprehension of common grant language for the city/county/state/govt and access to necessary documents such as 501(c)(3) status, EIN number, and annual reports.
  • High accuracy and personal accountability.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
