    Join Mac Duggal as Assistant Technical Designer!

    Mac Duggal is searching for a dynamic, highly organized, and knowledgeable technical design enthusiast to become a valuable part of their team. In this role, the Assistant Technical Designer will be responsible for creating detailed technical illustrations, ensuring design intent, and upholding brand standards. The ideal candidate will offer technical expertise in product fit, construction standards, and manufacturing methods, as well as maintain clear and professional communication with vendors. Collaboration with product and design teams to align with the merchandising calendar and meet production deadlines is crucial.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Generate and maintain detailed technical packages, including construction details, POMs, and fit comments in evening wear, knitwear, and RTW.
    • Assist in production fit sessions on live models and collaborate with designers and factories to achieve the desired aesthetic and fit.
    • Evaluate samples for vendor's execution of fit and construction, providing solutions through pattern corrections and garment re-engineering.
    • Work closely with production and design teams to ensure design integrity and production needs are met.
    • Proactively track overseas packages, estimate fit dates, and follow up with factories on anticipated CSs and PPs.
    • Approve sample garments at all stages in a timely manner according to the Time & Action Calendar and Production Plan.
    • Organize sample racks, prepare for fitting, and communicate effectively with overseas factories, offices, and QC regarding fit comments and status.
    • Timely respond to all inquiries and requests via e-mail or verbal communication.

    Requirements:

    • B.A. in Apparel Design, Technical Design, or Apparel Production.
    • Strong understanding of patterns.
    • Expertise in garment fit, woven specs, and construction.
    • Knowledge of sewing, fitting, and garment construction.
    • Strong attention to detail, deadline-oriented, inquisitive, with strong follow-up skills.
    • Proactive troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
    • Exceptional organizational skills, ability to multitask, and excellent written and verbal communication.
    • Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, Google Drive, and Adobe Illustrator.
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with the ability to navigate ambiguity and make sound decisions.
    • Ability to foster open communication, work in a team environment, and receive constructive feedback professionally.
