SUMMARY:
Our Host is the first interaction with Members.

It is the responsibility of the Host to ensure that Members and guests have a positive dining experience from the moment they arrive until their departure.


PRIMARY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be in proper and complete uniform as designated and be at the scheduled station at scheduled time.
  • Arrange Host station for appropriate shift; always keep podium and the main foyer clean.
  • Ensure side work is complete for lunch and dinner.
  • Greet Members by Mr./Mrs. with a smile, all the while maintaining eye contact as they arrive.
  • Manage the flow of Members and guests, giving accurate wait times if necessary.
  • Answer incoming calls for reservations and takeout orders.
  • Place takeout orders through POS; inform Chef/Expo about any special cooking instructions and ensure accuracy when packing takeout orders. Present guest check to member for signature.
  • Attend premeal meetings as requested by Manager.
  • Print menus for each meal period as needed, making sure they are accurate and clean.
  • Assist dining room staff with the setting and clearing of tables and refilling water.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Must possess excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess the ability to interact with members and staff on all levels in a professional, positive, and friendly manner.
  • Ability to comprehend and carry out instructions.
  • Ability to work as a team player and always maintain a professional appearance.
  • Ability to use POS system.
  • Ability to work all shifts days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English, Bilingual a plus.
  • Understanding of restaurant etiquette.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Some experience as a Host preferred
  • Experience with Northstar POS helpful
  • Experience in managing reservations preferred

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • ServSafe Sanitation certification required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift and/or carry items up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to assist in moving furniture when necessary
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to operate a computer
  • Ability to move about freely in a multifloor building
  • Ability to work indoors or outdoors, in many weather conditions
