Description

InSite Property Group is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant who will be responsible for accounting, reporting, cash management, and administration of self-storage properties.

Objective:

The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain the company's financial records and ensure that accounting records are in accordance with IFRS and GAAP and company policies.

Responsibilities:

Review and post monthly journal entries
Review and post tenant receipts and revenue transactions
Review accounts payable invoices for proper coding
Ensure that expenditures are appropriately expensed or capitalized in accordance with the company's accounting policy
Prepare journal entries for acquisitions and sale of properties
Prepare journal entries for debt acquisitions and related monthly activities
Prepare draw requests
Prepare coding of general contractor invoices
Review and reconcile trial balance
Prepare bank reconciliations
Prepare monthly property financial statements and variance analytics
Review daily cash positions
Assist with external audit requests and preparation of the annual financial statements

Other Functions:

Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed
Other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience

A four-year degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field is required
1-2 years of accounting experience
Strong Excel skills
Yardi experience is highly preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and take initiatives
Detail-oriented
Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities while staying focused and meeting deadlines without sacrificing accuracy

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Salary Range:

$63,000 - $72,000
