At the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, University and State Library of Saxony-Anhalt,***the position of

Scientific Trainee (m/f/d)

will be available from October 1st, 2023 for a period of two years.

The training salary is 50% of the salary of pay group 13, level 1 TV-L.

Job responsibilities:

The trainee will be familiarized with the functions and working methods in library science as well as the organization of information processes at the University and State Library of Saxony-Anhalt and trained for tasks in higher library service. The traineeship in higher library service includes a twoyear practical training at the University and State Library of Saxony-Anhalt. The theoretical training takes place in the Master's program in Library and Information Science at Humboldt University in Berlin through distance learning and is completed with the academic degree "Master of Arts" (Library and Information Science).

Requirements:

Completed university degree in natural sciences, life sciences, or computer science (Master's or Diploma)
Proven IT and media skills
Excellent knowledge of current developments in library services and the requirements for setting up new service offerings
Strong networking and cooperative working skills
Knowledge of at least two foreign languages
Analytical and conceptual skills
Planning and organizational skills
