Dispatcher Job Summary
MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE YEAR EXPERIENCE AS A SCHEDULER AND DISPATCHER

The ability to multi-task is essential, and you must be willing and able to take appropriate action with little supervision.

Dispatcher Duties and Responsibilities

Schedule all trips 12 business days ahead of time and communicate to drivers
Oversee progress of all trips and assure timely assistance by monitoring the route and status of customers, drivers and vehicles.
Provide drivers with vital information about orders, traffic, obstacles, and requirements as needed.
Act decisively with a willingness to address problems and develop solutions, adjust driver trip schedule in real time as needed and make requests by communicating with the necessary parties.

Dispatcher Requirements and Qualifications

Successful work experience as a transportation scheduler and dispatcher
Detailed knowledge of Boston and Northern Boston suburbs
Attention to Detail
Highly organized
Exceptional communication skills
Strong character, sound judgement, a level head, and a critical thinker
Ability to work under pressure
High school diploma or equivalent
Fluent in English (oral and written), other languages a plus
Outstanding organizational skills and multitasking abilities
Familiarity with necessary equipment, including radio, phone, and computer to dispatch personnel and vehicles to appropriate locations
