What The Role Is

The Analytics Engineer is responsible for developing analytics for Site Operations and Engineering teams to identify, quantify, document, and communicate generation upside opportunities within the wind, solar and battery storage fleets.

Expectations for this role are that the candidate has hands-on experience with Utility Solar, Distributed Generation/Community Solar and Wind data analytics and performance anomaly detection.

The ideal candidate enjoys working closely with the business to design data tools and solutions that enhance our analytics capabilities, while also working with Operations IT to prototype and UAT data model enhancements.

The Analytics Engineer will be expected to have strong programming experience, understanding of solar and wind systems and a demonstrated background with pattern/anomaly/outlier detection.

What You'll Be Doing

Evaluate asset performance and identify anomalies using data analytics and programming languages for our Utility Solar, Distributed Generation/Community Solar and Wind fleets
Work with key stakeholders to produce analyses identifying asset-level performance trends for Engineering, Continuous Improvement and Site Operations
Create clean and efficient code architecture and documentation for deployed analytics
Develop quality assurance tests for data models
Make enhancements and take ownership of Conversion Efficiency campaign
Perform ad-hoc analyses to solve for specific business stakeholder issues
Assist Performance Engineers ability to conduct deep-dives by developing dashboards and/or alerts using analytics
Present results/methodologies to a broad audience, including Executive-level staff

What You'll Bring

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science or quantitative field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in renewable energy
Minimum of 1 years of experience in data analytics
Background in Reliability Engineering required
SQL query proficiency required
Capable in understanding API documentation and developing API calls
Proficiency with programming languages required (Python and/or R)
Experience building and maintaining dashboards using PowerBI, Spotfire or other BI software required
Experience building and maintaining production level code
Experience with Machine Learning a plus (Random Forest, SVM, KNN)
Experienced in version control

Background in Wind Energy preferred

Clearway will not sponsor nonimmigrant visas for this position (H-1B, TN, E-3, etc.).

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law.

This role is eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.

Salary Range Across all U.S. Locations

$89,000—$140,000 USD
