The State of New Hampshire, Division for Children, Youth & Families Legal, has a full time vacancy for Clerk IV
SUMMARY:
**Provides clerical assistance to the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Legal & Regulatory Services, Division for Children, Youth & Families (DCYF) Legal Unit in the processing of abuse and neglect cases.

18 Months of additional relevant experience = Associate's degree
36 Months of additional relevant experience = Bachelor's degree
54 Months of additional relevant experience = Master's degree
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High school diploma or high school equivalency credential. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.**
Experience:Three years' experience in a clerical position including supervisory experience.**
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Organizes and creates attorney files and assists with the preparation of cases for Court s.* -
Types letters, pleadings, motions and other legal documents pertaining to child abuse and neglect cases in preparation for court action.
Provides administrative and clerical support directly to the DCYF Legal Unit to include reviewing the daily mail to identify priority issues and to ensure these are addressed. Makes independent and/or collaborative judgment on emergent administrative/clerical issues and whether they can be resolved independently or need to be referred to an attorney in the Legal Unit.

Answers telephone inquiries from clients, private attorneys, agency representatives and court personnel within and outside the DCYF Legal Unit to ensure timely and effective communication.

Independently gathers and inputs data for case management, case tracking, and report generating.

Composes correspondence to court personnel, legal representatives, and DCYF staff to request and to provide information when appropriate.

Receives, reviews and distributes Legal Unit mail and provides responses when appropriate.

Reviews and processes for payment information for witness fees, subpoenas, service by sheriff, and notice by publication.

Supervises and coordinates work flow of other clerical staff assisting the Legal Unit and reviewing their work for accuracy and timeliness.

Responsible for ordering of office supplies and publications.

Assist in processing of records requests by reviewing documents for potential redactions, drafting cover letters, and sending to the attorney for review.
