Join the NYC Men Teach initiative We are dedicated to diversifying the educational landscape by supporting and retaining teachers of color in NYC schools.

If you're passionate about education, community, and leadership but do not yet hold teaching credentials, we offer a pathway to begin your teaching career and make a lasting impact.


About NYC Men Teach:

NYC Men Teach believes that well-supported educators create better learning experiences for students.

Our aim is to enhance the retention of teachers of color, supporting them through comprehensive professional development and leadership opportunities.

We are expanding our Principals and Mentor Networks and developing culturally relevant workshops and community engagement initiatives.

  • Participate in an accredited program to gain your teaching credentials while working.
  • Receive mentorship from experienced educators and leaders within our network.
  • Engage with community leaders to develop innovative educational practices.
  • Attend workshops and training sessions focused on cultural relevancy and leadership skills in education.

Responsibilities:


  • Work under the supervision of certified teachers and mentors to learn best teaching practices.
  • Assist in classroom activities and lesson planning.
  • Participate in community and school events.
  • Commit to continuous professional development and training.

Qualifications:


  • Passion for education and community engagement.
  • Interest in pursuing a teaching career in New York City schools.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required; significant professional or community experience also considered.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and dynamic environment.
