This approach includes both crisis interventions, such as emergency shelter and family reunification services, as well as ongoing support to build family resiliency, including counseling, education, and parenting classes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintains awareness, safety, security and supervision of youth/children in care at all times.
  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with all youth/children in our care, agency staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Administers and documents medications as outlined in training and in alignment with regulatory guidelines.
  • Facilitates and engages youth/children in daily routines and program activities.
  • Completes program admissions and discharges task as assigned.
  • Follows all behavior management, deescalation strategies, and crisis intervention protocols and procedures.
  • Interacts with youth/children in a way that reinforces and models behavioral expectations.
  • Completes all required daily documentation.
  • Follows all reporting and notification process as outlined in the program's policy and procedures.
  • Completes housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • Assists in the preparation, serving, and documentation of meals and snacks.
  • Attends daily staffing, meetings, planning sessions and trainings as required and/or appropriate.
  • Responsible for daily routines.
  • Participates in classes and groups with youth/children as appropriate.
  • Ensure all conduct and youth/children interactions are Trauma Informed and follows best practices.
  • Models sensitivity and competency related to diversity and cultural awareness.
  • Transports youth/children as needed and follows all transportation safety and documentation guidelines.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with youth in a residential environment and/or have been served by a child serving system (i.e. DCS, Special Education, Juvenile Justice).
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess or able to obtain prior to employment a valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Must have valid Arizona Driver's license, exhibit the ability to operate Agency vans and/or vehicles safely and have a clean 5year motor vehicle history.
  • Must be able to display verbal and written communication skills that meet the requirements of the position and needs of clients.
  • Must have computer knowledge / proficiency such that log notes can be entered as required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs (word, outlook, excel)
  • Maintains certifications for CPI, First Aid, CPR, Food Handling and participates in ongoing Agency trainings, as directed
