    This position offers hybrid telework options are available. When reporting to the office, this location offers FREE parking, is near Folsom Lake and Historic Downtown Folsom, close to walking trails, shopping and eateries. This position is not located inside of a prison.

    The California Prison Industry Authority is currently looking for an Accounting Officer (Specialist) in the Central Office located in Folsom, CA.

    Under the general supervision of the Accounts Receivable Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor), this position will perform a variety of the more difficult accounting duties including billing, direct transfers, training and analyzing data.

    Desirable Qualifications

    In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

    Knowledge of accounts receivable, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB). Communicates effectively and has the ability to multi-task while maintaining accuracy. Team player in a fast-paced work environment. Handle and resolve customer dispute letters by analyzing data, making recommendations, and making necessary corrections. Function as back-up to the Associate Accounting Analyst and all AR staff, including analyzing and preparing monthly assignments, assigning, and monitoring KACE tickets.

    • Customer Service
    • Financial Audits / Year-End work experience
    • Financial Accounting
    • Work experience analyzing data
    • Work experience Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point
    • Experience writing procedures, memorandums, and/or other written correspondence to internal/external stakeholders
    • Accounting certificates, college degree with emphasis in accounting, business, finance, math
