The August Everding Theater Academy, located in the Prinzregententheater in Munich, is the official training institution for the state of Bavaria.

With seven programs currently offered, it is one of the leading institutions in Europe for training in stage professions. The Theater Academy collaborates with four universities in Munich and the Bavarian State Theaters.

When not using the Prinzregententheater as its own performance venue, the Theater Academy rents out the main stage to guest organizers.

We are currently seeking a Costume Department Assistant (m/f/d) to join our team starting on March 1st, 2023.

This is a part-time position (25 hours/week).

Responsibilities:

Creation of historical and contemporary costumes, including theater processing, under the guidance of the costume master
Independent cutting of small parts
Alterations of existing costumes and purchased costumes
Dyeing and washing of fabrics and costumes
Management and maintenance of the Theater Academy's costume stock and assistance to students from all programs during stock opening hours
Evening and weekend dressing services

Requirements:

Completed training as a tailor for women's or men's clothing, preferably with several years of professional experience as a tailor for large pieces
Extensive knowledge of costume and style, as well as materials and fabrics
Artistic creativity and manual dexterity
Willingness to work irregular hours
Ability to organize work independently
Teamwork and flexibility
